Peppermint Canna-Candy Cane Cookies

Ditch the traditional candy cane cookie this year and wow your cannabis enthusiastic friends and colleagues with these fun to make, colorful, “twisted” canna-candy cane cookies! Remember to leave a few for Santa and you may just find him waiting for you under the mistletoe! Inspired by Dolores White’s famous Candy Cane Cookie recipe.

Peppermint Canna-Candy Cane Cookies

Makes 12 cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 Tablespoons Grass Fed Butter + 4 Tablespoons JeffThe420Chef’s Light Tasting Cannabutter, softened

  • ½ cup shortening

  • 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 ½ cups sifted all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon red food coloring gel

  • ½ teaspoon green food coloring gel

 

STEPS

  1. Preheat oven to 340ºF

  2. Cream butter, cannabutter, sugar, egg, almond and vanilla.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt and add to shortening mixture. Divide dough into 3 equal parts.

  4. Blend red food coloring into one third and Green food coloring into another third. Leave the remaining third it’s natural color.

  5. On a lightly floured board, roll 1 teaspoon of the red dough into a 5” rope.

  6. Repeat with the green and white dough

  7. Place strips side by side and press lightly together and twist like a rope.

  8. Curve top of rope down to look like the handle of a candy cane.

  9. Bake 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool and serve.
